    edina photos{First Communion Dress Photos}
    Over the past few years I’ve done of these sessions and because I think it is such a great idea, wanted to share a few photos and suggest the idea for future communicants. An opportunity to capture your child and perhaps special heirloom items outside of the big celebration at church, which tends to be busy with specific rules on photos.

    Posting hiatus – done! {San Diego, time away}

    Thursday, March 20th, 2014

    san diego picsI’ve taken a few months off this winter-  much needed. Busy busy time of life with the kids and the slower winter season is the perfect time to take a little break from shooting and focus on my family.

    Wade and I took a MUCH needed trip this winter, just the 2 of us. It has been wayyyyyyy too many years to mention, since just the 2 of us even went away for a night together. A perfect opportunity to re-connect, re-discover our relationship as a couple. Here are a few iphone photos :)

    Happy Back to School! Getting back to photos now…

    Sunday, September 8th, 2013

    I hope everyone has had an incredible first week (or two for some families!) back to school here in Minnesota. I have taken the past few weeks off from posting and mainly off from shooting to enjoy the end of summer with my family and the get ourselves situated in our new school routine.  The kids are LOVING their new teachers, their new (2nd year now) school and friends and everything is off to an awesome start. Pinch me.

    I am taking a rather limited amount of sessions this fall as I did over the summer too, just for where we are in this stage of life with the kids and other family/outside commitments.  I am planning to do a few mini session date I haven’t announced yet so if you are looking to get on my calendar for regular sessions or mini sessions, please shoot me a note right away.

    Thank you and enjoy the end of the summer weather!! xo

    A while back I had a videographer come to a few sessions to document what I do and he developed this footage and story. Not sure why it’s taken me so long to share these but I love what he put together and hope you will enjoy watching a bit of the ‘behind the scenes’ :)

    Celebrating Quinn – A Community Tribute

    Saturday, January 12th, 2013

    edina photographer, edina event phtoographer, edina 50th and france photographer

    If you live in or have passed through Edina the past few days you’ve noticed the seas of green balloons that line the streets and shops.  The balloons are a loving tribute to an 8 year old boy who died suddenly on Monday from heart failure. The youngest of 4 boys, this sweet child had touched the lives of many and people were moved to show their support to the Kirsch family in such a way.  I was contacted, along with fellow local photographer Elissa Kadue of Little Bean Photograhy to photograph the balloons and the lighting of the luminaries by the students and parents of OLG to commemorate Quinn’s life. A wise, dear friend of the family knew from experience that in their darkest of hours, the family would not see the balloons but knew that later they would be grateful for and be able to appreciate the outpouring of love and support by the community. We are touched to be able to share our images with the community and hope this video is a piece of healing for the community and, especially, the Kirsch family

    Moving.

    Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

    Whew, what a HUGE task. Emotionally, mentally, physically. Even if it’s just across the metro it is all-consuming. In our case it was pretty fast – we listed, sold, purchased, and moved all over the course of summer vacation. All while trying to have (and having!) a ‘normal’ summer vacation full of fun times as well as working and operating with all the moving logistics. BUT, we survived.  We are officially moved.

    In the meantime, I had to take a break from my blog and from facebook and sadly, from many sessions. My time was gobbled up in so many tasks related to the move – packing, saying goodbyes (that was the hardest task of all), so I had to let my photography go dormant. So for folks who are wondering WHERE am I ? I am here!! I just was on a break. I do have some sessions to post and I will be busy again starting now and will hopefully be posting again. I have taken on a lighter than normal fall schedule due to the move, but I’ll still be working :)   With my new studio up the road now I plan to offer a lot of fun opportunities this winter! So stay tuned.

    Thanks for stopping in and look for fun session posts soon!!

    Now Booking SPRING!!

    Thursday, March 22nd, 2012

    I love the smell of the air in the spring!  Last week we stepped outside and my son said ’hmmm, it smells familiar’ !! I love how smells do that, bring you right back to a familiar place and that is what it has felt like since we got home from spring break. Like a promise of new beginnings. How amazing and refreshing.

    What else it means it we can start outside sessions sooner than usual and I’m excited about that!  If you want to get on the calendar while the flowers are blooming and it’s not 105 degrees in the shade (like was the case many times last summer!), April – June is a great time to do that! :) Let me know!
