Friday, May 17th, 2013{The Nojd Family} How great is it that all throughout life we get to meet new friends whom we admire, inspire us, and overall, make the world a happier place. The instant Kate came to pick up her youngest daughter at my house I knew we’d be… friends! And I had such a blast photographing not just her immediate family of 7 but her entire family as well – a sneak peek of those soon! Saturday, January 26th, 2013So much fun to photograph old friends who you’ve known your entire adult life, and watch their love and family grow. This beautiful couple I’ve had the pleasure knowing for half my life, attend their wedding, and now I have the honor of photographing their beautiful family as the kids grow up. I have the best job EVER! Don’t you just love the colors mom chose for this corner of their new home? The mustard chair was her inpiration piece and the rest came together accordinly. LOVE it.

Tuesday, January 15th, 2013I had such a blast with this family a few days after Christmas. It was a rare occurance that everyone could be together in one place as the sisters live on opposite sides of the US and since everyone was home it was a great reason to celebrate with photos! They were such great sports as we cozied in on that chilly day – and a 2 and 4 year old always keeps you guessing I loved their smart, witty humor as they kept me laughing as much as I tried to get them to laugh. It was such a fun morning! I hope it becomes an annual family photoshoot ;o) (hint hint).

I have so many amazing shots of them loving her up, her alone with those big blue eyes and her darling outfits and big smiles. Could have spent an entire afternoon with her. When I do the full post I’ll show you the out take of how and when we knew our sessions was ‘done’. It’s the best!

Oh how I love Magical Lake Harriet in the fall! Ok, well anytime of year! It always draws me in under it’s spell. A place I’ve found myself hooked for half my life. And then, a place I have fond memories of visiting as a child too. I’ve watched it evolve and change ever so slightly over time yet the same feeling remains.
Well this family and I go way back as I had the pleasure of meeting both boys in the hospital when they were just a few days old. Needless to say, I’ve watched them grow up being we lived nearby and our children are close in age. So when it was their turn for photos I found my camera poised and frozen until their ‘whhhhaaat!?!…sort of snapped me out of it Apparantly I was ogling/smilng/pausing a bit too long for their comfort, I’m sure. But what I was marveling at was how grown up they were, how handsome. When did they get so big? I was sure it was just a few weeks ago their mom and I were having coffee at Caribou and our newborns were sleeping in the car seats at our feet….

Such a beautiful and affectionate family, not shy at all about expressing their feelings towards one another and I LOVE IT! I am very much about PDA with my kiddos – I can’t hardly stop hugging, smoothing, snuggling with them and love to see other people do the same. The family photos from our session really capture their closeness and fun-loving dynamics. I will soon share the full link! But for now, a quick glance at this beautiful Stillwater family!
