Three Boys, Lots of Laughs

Met up with this family to get some photos of them with their boys. These two are a fabulous photographer duo themselves but even photographers need photos!! And as photographers one thing we can all agree on as a community is the challenge of photographing our own children. For better or worse chances are they have a camera pointed at them more than your average child so this often means they give us (the parents), the opportunity to work harder than we would with a regular client to get those genuine expressions Our photogrphy community in the twin cities is huge and over the course of the past few years have met some incredible people and friends and it further reinforces my love of this craft. At any rate, here are a few quick photos from our evening – more to add to this soon!!

Iris is 5!

Iris’ mama was kind enough to let Iris be a test subject for me back before I started my business but was very interested in doing so. She was just a few months old – 2 maybe! And I stopped by to meet this beautiful baby girl and bring my camera and play. I am going to add a few of those from my archives when I dig them up but in the meantime, was so excited about these big brown eyes combined with the bright spring flowers I wanted to post a few. Check back in a few days when I have dug up some from nearly 5 years ago – I love watching children grow! Such a privilege to be a part of someone’s childhood like this

Evelyn!

I have been photographing this little angel the past nearly 2 years and it was so much fun to see her again! She is the smiliest, happiest little girl and with those cheeks and dimples of hers I found my face hurt after our session- from smiling at her :) My daughter was along and it was really cute to watch the 2 of them together. I have included a few of her photos from just a year ago – they grow so fast!

Maison Galleria Spring Boutique Event!

Just over a week ago I held a spring boutique open house event at the beautiful Maison Galleria in downtown Stillwater - what a great night! We had nearly a dozen women-opened businesses set up tables throughout the store and served wine and dessert . 80+ people came through during the open house to shop and mingle, so fun! Sadly I got so caught up chatting with old friends and meeting new ones I never took any photos with the exception of some table set ups at the beginning of the party.

Thank you!!! To all the wonderful women who brought their merchandise in to sell and provided door prize giveaways! and THANK YOU to all the shoppers who came on down to support me and the businesses that night – it was a wonderful evening and I am grateful for your friendship! Celebrating the Everyday Routine

Am I in NYC? I know, it looks like it doesn’t it?!? Instead I’m enjoying our magnificant downtown Mpls park scene with a mom who enjoys the urban lifestyle and landscape daily with her wee ones. Right in the heart of the city and less than a block from their highrise condo we could enjoy a wonderful, hidden park; pick flowers; attempt to feed the squirrels; and get lost in time on the swings. It was such a treat to follow them on their routine walk to the park and be able to capture them enjoying something so simple as their daily park visit. I love these documentary sessions - a truly wonderful way to capture a snapshot in time, that may seem so ordinary now but in a few years, will be part of your family’s history.

When I arrived I got to play trucks with R on the balcony and get to know baby V who has grown so much since my last visit. Oh how fun it was that spring came so early!
